Friday I had a dental appointment. So I had to leave work a bit early. As luck had it, Providence & Worcester train NR-2 was leaving Tilcon in Groton as I was leaving the parking lot, getting ready to head home. I figured it was worth a shot to try and catch them on the way to the dentist.
Short story is that I got ahead of NR-2 enough to shoot them heading north along the Thames River at Stoddard Hill in Ledyard. The one different thing was that I used a new “perch” to shoot them as they headed upstream. The angle is decent – the only problem is there’s a ton of brush along the tracks that got in the way, but I managed to work around them. Here’s the results:
[cpg_album:730]After they were out of sight to the north, I made the hike back to the car, and made it to the dentists with about 10 minutes to spare.
Thanks for looking!
Tom

Tom, those last three shots are killer, especially the last one! Nice to see what things look like on the other side of Stoddard.
