Berkshire Scenic Railroad Night Shoot

Saturday night I attended the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum’s night shoot.  This was the 4th year that they’ve done it, and as with the previous three times, I lent a hand and Steve Barry from Railfan & Railroad did the lighting.  Things started out a little iffy with torrential downpours, but as shooting time rolled around, the rain let up, and some stars actually poked through the cloud cover.  At the end of the night, I think everyone came away with some pretty nice images.  I know I’m happy with mine.

First off, thanks to the folks at BSRM and the Housatonic Railroad (owners of the tracks – and new HRRC GM Rick Abramson gave a nice speech before the shoot) for letting a gaggle of photographers run around their property taking pictures of them and their equipment.  Second, thanks to Ross Mealey, who is not only the BSRM’s staff photographer, and co-founder of NortheastFoto.com (sponsors of the event), but also the two of us work together to come up with some new shots every year.  And of course, thanks to Steve Barry for coming up from New Jersey to through his Lumedyne light around the Lenox station area.  Well, and finally thanks to Mother Nature for ending the rain at about the right time (and to “meterologist” Adam Sullivan for the continuous radar updates).  And without further adieu, here’s the goods.

Thanks for looking!
