Busy evening last night and busy day today, so this is a little catch up from yesterday’s shooting. I was able to catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 under some different weather conditions. And throw into the mix Amtrak train 171 at the start of things. Oh, yeah, and like Mark Twain once said – don’t like the weather in New England, wait a few minutes. Yesterday was the epitome of that…
We’ll keep things short today (it is getting late, after all). Yesterday morning I had a bit of time to head out and shoot P&W NR2 at Fairview Yard in Groton, and again along the Niantic Bay Boardwalk. As bonus #1, I also caught Amtrak 171 at Niantic. And bonus #2 was that they dropped two loaded lumber cars at Ring’s End Lumber in Niantic, so I shot that as well. Then in the afternoon as I was heading out of the office, NR2 was coming through New London, so I was able to bag them along Mill Cove and Red Top in Ledyard, getting the ever-changing northbound trip back to Plainfield under nice and sunny skies – a stark contrast to the fairly heavy overcast earlier in the day.
And without further adieu, here’s the photos.
