3rd Annual Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum Night Photo Shoot

This past Saturday was the third annual Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum’s Night Photo Shoot – one of the two regular shoots I participate in, and help plan (the other being the CT Eastern RR Museum in Willimantic – here’s the CERM 2008 night shoot). There was a light crowd of photographers, but the weather was perfect, and we had a great night of shooting.

Once again, Steve Barry, editor of Railfan & Railroad, graciously provided the lighting for the night. This year Ross Mealey (BSRM Staff Photog) and I decided to do a few different shots, including one with no locomotive visible! As usual, the shots were sprinkled with BSRM volunteers to give them a human edge, and this year I did quite a few ambient light shots in between the planned shots, so there’s a little variety.

OK, enough blabbing – here’s the shots from the night shoot. I got there early to plan the night with Ross, so I started shooting while the sun was still up. And we wrapped things up at about 11:30PM. A very good night…

Of course huge thanks goes out to the volunteers of the Berkshire Scenic who ran the trains, cleaned up the grounds, and posed in most of the shots. Thanks to Ross for helping get this together, and thanks again to Steve Barry for coming up from NJ to not only share in the evening’s festivities, but also to provide the lighting services. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for looking!
