To quote John Cleese in Monty Python’s Flying Circus, and now for something completely different. A friend of mine won skybox tickets to a New England Defenders game at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, where they were playing cross-state rivals the New Britain Rock Cats. So of course I took him up on the offer on the tickets, and the 40D came along for the ride. Here’s a few shots from the evening.
When we got to the skybox, I was a little less than impressed with the view – photographically speaking. There were wires criss-crossing everywhere, and the net behind home plate was right in the way. So after I took in the free catered dinner, I headed down to the concourse above the seats along the field for a better view of the field. I spent most of the night down there, snapping shots throughout the game. Here’s a few, including a handheld shot of the closing fireworks. And as you can tell by a couple, some rain crept in in the middle of the game, but not enough to postpone it.
