Well, it looks like the stinky twins finally got scrapped over the weekend. My guess is it happened either on Friday or Saturday. Either way, there’s not much left of them. I just wish I caught them being scrapped – that would have made a pretty neat photo essay. Oh, well, you can’t win ’em all. But they did leave a few things scattered about for me to photograph. How nice of them. 🙂
Here’s a few shots of the remains of the two hoppers that sat in Willimantic for a good 6 months. A couple panels, some springs and a lone drawbar sticking out of the ground, like it’s reaching for the sky. I guess the rest of it went to the great feed mill in the sky…
[cpg_album:190]Thanks for looking!

Twins have yet to be scrapped, they were moved into DeVivo’s 2 weekends ago. The parts you found were the damaged parts they removed when they fixed the others damaged in the incident. When they moved them onto the siding they repaired the trucks, no tie plates over the bearings.
CERRM has put in a request for procurement of some parts after NECR gives DeVivo the list of parts they want.

Yeah, see the later “update” post I made after the twins were talked about at the museum meeting.
