Yet again, I’m a bit behind in the postings. This one goes back to December 5th where I got out to catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 between the USS Nautilus in Groton, and Shaw’s Cove in New London. Also along the way, an Acela came into the picture, along […]
New London
After work tonight, I stuck around the Groton area to photograph the conjunction of three solar system bodies – the Moon, Jupiter and Venus – in the evening sky. Luckily the clouds cooperated again and I was able to get some decent shots of the trio in the sky.
While waiting at Erickson Park for Providence & Worcester train NR-2 to come onto the scene, the weather went from some gorgeous morning light, to a pretty thick overcast. As I sat there debating whether or not to head back to the office and forgo shooting NR-2 on this now […]
One more from the backlog before I have to head to work. Here’s some stuff from the 21st – short version is this, an Acela and Providence & Worcester train NR-2 along a short length of the Amtrak Shore Line.
Yeah, once again I’m a bit behind on postings. Here’s some stuff from back on October 20th where I came across Providence & Worcester train NR-2, some railfans from New Jersey and Connecticut and a Virginia class fast attack submarine heading back to the US Navy Sub Base in Groton.
Continuing on the catching up tasks – here’s some stuff from October 17th. I managed to catch not only Providence & Worcester train NR-2, but also a Virginia class fast attack submarine heading out to sea.
Playing a bit of catch-up here. These shots are from last week – the 15th and 16th, of Providence & Worcester train NR-2 in Ledyard, Groton and New London, and a tied down New England Central train NERWNE in South Windham.
Well, the week is on the calendar. I’ve only got 3 times I went out shooting in that timeframe – September 11th, 16th and 19th. Anyways, two are of Providence & Worcester train NR-2, and the third was of a couple cars in Willimantic.
Friday morning on my way into work, I noticed something odd while crossing over the Thames River on the Gold Star Bridge. So a quick ride down Thames Street was in order to investigate.
Two times in one day – not too bad. Got lucky this afternoon, and caught Providence & Worcester train NR-2 in New London as I was leaving work. Pretty good way to finish off the workday, and welcome in the long holiday weekend.
