Headed out at my usual time this morning to take my walk, and catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 heading south in Ledyard. The timing worked out great so I could get a good walk in, then shoot the train rolling south along Mill Cove under a gorgeous blue sky.
Today I decided on a slightly different angle. I headed a couple hundred yards south of Erickson Park to the first bridge over the cove giving me a nice view of MP4. But I decided to mix it up a bit and stand on the concrete bridge abutment, giving me another 4 feet of elevation. Once I got up on the abutment, a rumble in the distance got louder, promptly followed by the GE’s horns sounding for the crossing at Red Top. Moments later, the train appeared at MP4 at the north end of Mill Cove.

Thanks for looking!
