With the new job, my time has been much more limited than it has been in the past, so I don’t get out to shoot as much. But that also has a benefit – when I get behind in my postings, I don’t have that big of a backlog! Here’s some stuff from December 8th when we got a light snowfall here in eastern Connecticut. I caught Providence & Worcester NR-2 at Mill Cove & over the Thames, as well as a meet between two Amtrak Acelas as they crossed over the Thames River.
Like the last post, I’ll just cut to the chase. I caught NR-2 along Mill Cove after a light snowfall the night before, and also crossing the Thames River. But before NR-2 headed west, a pair of Amtrak Acelas met over the Thames. So for your viewing enjoyment, here’s the goods!

Looks like they are still chipping away at the counterweight from the old bascule span.
George-
Nope, it’s been gone for a while. They’re just putting the finishing touches on the ancillary hardware (fenders in the channel, closing up passageways, etc.). You’re probably seeing the Gold Star bridge pier behind the fixed span to the west of the lift span.
