Boy have things been hectic. Now that I’ve got a couple minutes, I figured I’d post up a few shots from back in February of the New England Central in Willimantic. Nothing earth-shattering, but still at least it’s something for you to check out.
The evening of February 16th I happened across NECR train NERWNE, otherwise known as the old #608 symbol, in Willimantic. Even though the light was fading pretty fast, I figured a couple quick shots of the train from the foot bridge across the yard was in order.
When I got up on the bridge, they were finishing up the PW interchange north of Bridge Street, so I checked out the angles on the bridge. Something caught my eye, however – someone pasted a Chinese fortune cookie fortune to the bridge. (if you can’t read it, it says “It is up to you to create your own adventures.”
[cpg_imagefixnormal:115219]Some pretty good advice. So while waiting, I got another shot with the colorful skies overhead
[cpg_imagefixnormal:115218]And a few minutes later, 608 made their way over Bridge Street and towards me
[cpg_imagefixnormal:115217] [cpg_imagefixnormal:115216]Then a wide shot as they passed underneath the foot bridge
[cpg_imagefixnormal:115215]And one final going away shot as they cross the Willimantic River, and pass under the Frog Bridge
[cpg_imagefixnormal:115214]And that was it for the evening jaunt. Like I said, nothing earth-shattering, but not total crap either.
Thanks for looking!
Tom
