Another hazy foggy morning today – but nothing like yesterday – at least I could see more than 100 feet in front of me. And I ended up bagging both New England Central train 608 and Providence & Worcester train NR-2 within a couple miles of each other.
Well, tonight I’m not exactly in a wordy mood, so I’ll spare you the normal song & dance tonight, and just give you the pictures. Nothing exactly earth-shattering, but hey, I worked with the hand I was dealt. So here goes.
First up is NECR train 608 heading south along the Thames River in Uncasville. I was on the P&W side of the river around milepost 7, and got a series of shots of 608 rolling through the haze hanging in the air.

Then an obligatory shot of a passing boat

And then P&W train NR-2, this time at Mill Cove. The water was surprisingly calm, despite the steady breeze in the air.

That’s it for tonight. I’ll try and do better tomorrow…heh…
Thanks for looking!

Hey Tom – Nice shots of 608. I picked it up in norwich today but was ticked off when I saw they were running long hood first. My buddy was working that train today and I wanted to get some shots for him. Oh well I will try again tomorrow. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Mark! I thought about heading all the way up to Norwich, but there wasn’t time. That and by the time I got to my spot, I’d estimate that 608 was about at the casino – I could hear their marker on the scanner.
Good luck!
Tom
