Something to cool you down

Well, if you’re in the northeast, you know we’re having a bout with some summer like weather – mid 80’s and humid. So I figured I’d scan in a couple older winter shots. Here’s a couple from the Valley Railroad‘s eagle watching trip that happened on February 15, 2003. It was a train put on with the Connecticut Audubon Society that ran from Essex up to Goodspeed Station in Haddam, and back. If I remember correctly, it was a cold 20 degrees, and it had snowed the day before. Cold weather and a steam train – can’t go wrong there!

Here’s 2 shots – both on Kodachrome 64. The first one is of the train cresting the grade in northern Essex, and the second is of the extra rolling along the Connecticut River just a little ways south of Goodspeed Station.
