On the 12th of November, I only planned on heading out one time to shoot – to catch a Providence & Worcester NR-2X carrying 80 empty ethanol cars. But I really couldn’t pass up the second time – it was something that begged to have a photo taken of it.
A bit later than NR-2’s usual time into the area, NR-2X came south with 80 empty ethanol tanks to deliver to the New England Central in New London. I managed to catch them at Mill Cove in Gales Ferry, Fairview Yard in Groton, and Shaw’s Cove in New London. That was pretty run of the mill (well, except for the fact that I finished off my final roll of Kodachrome 64, and have to send it to Dwayne’s for processing before the end of December). But later, on my way home, the sunset over New London was just begging for a photo. So I wend down to the Streeter boat launch in Groton to get a few shots of the Thames River lift bridge backlit by the colorful sunset. I also managed to catch an Acela crossing the bridge! Not much else to comment on, so here’s the goods:
