Monday Night – West Chester Railroad

With some time to kill Monday night down in Collegeville, I did a bit of research on what was in the area railroad-wise.  I found an excursion line – the West Chester Railroad – about 30 minutes from the hotel.  I figured it was worth a ride down there to at least check it out – especially considering they have a couple nice looking ALCos on their roster – a RS-18 and C424.  So once I settled into the hotel and had dinner, I made my way south to West Chester, PA to check things out.

I made my way to where the maps said the railroad was located, and I was greeted by a black GE 65 Ton centercab sitting adjacent to the parking area near the road.  So that was the first shot of the evening – done in ambient light.

Next up, I found the C424 sporting what looked like some new paint.  So I got a couple shots – the first in ambient light, and the nose shot was done with the Lumedyne

And finally a shot of the RS-18 – this one was harder with the floodlights pointing into the lens, but I tried to take advantage of the lens flare from the light to the left of the frame, having it roughly parallel the long hood’s roof line.

And that was it for the evening.  Not too many shots, but in my opinion well worth the trek.  Hey, it sure beats sitting in the hotel watching TV!

Thanks for looking!
Tom
