Last Tuesday in NJ – 33K & MA-1

Most of last week I was in New Jersey again, and with the limited daylight this time of year provides, most of my shooting was either at dusk or in the dead of the night.  My first shots were on a cloudy Tuesday evening just before I checked into the hotel when I stopped in Bound Brook.  Luckily I managed to catch a couple trains there.

While there I managed to get shots of Norfolk Southern train 33K – well their power anyways.  They headpinned their train to the east and headed up to the signals at CP-BOUND BROOK light where they waited for Conrail local MA-1.  Not long after they got to the signals, MA-1 came into view and headed for Manville yard.  33K would then follow MA-1 in to do their work before heading back to their train and continuing west.  I only stayed for the meet at the CP – I had to get checked into the hotel and head down to Ringoes for a little time on the Black River & Western RR – more on that next post…
