I was hoping I would be able to catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 heading south today – with the cloudy and foggy weather, I was aiming for a somewhat moody shot up at Mill Cove in Ledyard, CT. Unfortunatley, the fog had lifted, and the clouds started to thin […]

Well, I guess everything does happen for a reason. I couldn’t get out this morning to catch NR-2 heading south along the Norwich branch, so I figured I’d head out over lunch and try to catch them somewhere on the Northeast Corridor between New London and Old Saybrook. By the […]
I took a half day from work to watch the kids (my wife had an appointment), so on the way home I ran into Providence & Worcester train NR-2 heading north through Norwich, CT.
The timing was on today aparently because I was able to catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 twice – once in the morning and once over lunch – with only a few moment’s notice. This morning was on the Ledyard/Preston town line at Poquetanuck Cove, and this afternoon was at […]
I was able to get out and catch two Providence & Worcester jobs today – NR-2 and NH-1. Caught NR-2 rolling past the USS Nautilus in Groton, CT, and later I got ’em swapping cars and power with NH-1 in Old Saybrook, CT at the Amtrak station.

Well, because of the crappy weather today, I was able to leave work early and head home. Down in Groton, the snow was starting to change to sleet, and I really didn’t want to hang around to watch it change to freezing rain. So I got out around 1pm and […]
With the March nor’easter bearing down on us, I made sure I got out to catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 running through the falling snow – while it lasted. The forecasters were saying it would be changing to sleet/freezing rain sometime later today, so the morning would be the […]
Despite the foggy, rainy weather, I headed out this morning to catch Providecne & Worcester train NR-2 on it’s way south along the Thames River. By the time I was able to head out, the train was already within 10 minutes of the Sub Base. So I decided to head […]
Well, I had to head into work late this morning because the kids were sick. Once everyone was situated at home, I headed out the door. Having a route to work that encounters three railroads does have it’s advantages. Today, I’d get to shoot two of those roads on the […]
