Prior to making the trip down to the Garden State, I had arranged some time with the folks at the Black River & Western Railroad in Ringoes, NJ to roam around their property and photograph whatever equipment they had in the area. But it wasn’t the usual run around in daylight – nope, I did it under cover of darkness.
First off I want to thank Jim and the folks at the Black River & Western Railroad for opening up the shops and their grounds to me and my camera. They’ve got a nice operation there that not only moves freight, but also has a tourist train running on weekends. I got a chance to shoot nearly all of the equipment they had in Ringoes that night, including their steamer which is inside the shops undergoing some work. Jim did also let me know of a couple other locations of their equipment, but my back was killing me a little while after I left, so I headed back to the hotel for the night. No need to say much more, so here’s the shots.
