A snow covered NR-2

OK, going back to the start of the week – before we had to bring my daughter to the hospital.  I was able to get out and catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 after the previous weekend’s snowfall.  It sure was a cold morning, and I really didn’t look forward to standing out in the cold waiting for the train.  Luckily, I had a little help in coming up with the timing.

Short version is this:  I got a call from Nick Palazini and David Jodoin who were chasing NR-2 out of Plainfield.  They let me know when the train was southbound out of the yard – and the fact that the lead unit’s pilot was caked with snow.  So that gave me a good idea of when they’d be down in the Ledyard area.  I was able to get to Mill Cove about a minute or two before the train – and about a 50 seconds before Nick & David (they got screwed by traffic on I-395).  I also got a couple barge shots down by EB on the way into work.  NR-2 was working the yard and Spicer Gas, so I headed back to work instead of hanging around in the cold.
