Now that I’m home from my trip to New Jersey for work, I’m catching up on my posts.\u00a0 This one is from last Tuesday where I went out for a bit on the way into the office, then again after I was done with work.\u00a0 In the morning I hit a new spot in Flemington, NJ and in the afternoon I stopped back at Bound Brook.<\/p>\n

In the morning I decided to check out a new spot on the Lehigh Line in Flemington, NJ – a spot at the Stanton Station Road crossing.\u00a0 As I got there, I was greeted by some nice scenery, but everything was in the shadows at this time of morning.\u00a0 Looking at things, it appeared to me that this was more of an afternoon shot.\u00a0 But I was here, and had a bit of time before I had to hit the road for the office.<\/p>\n
Not long after arriving there and surveying the scenes, something crackled over the scanner – “NS 11J clear CP-53 westbound.”\u00a0 Seeing that I was just west of MP54, that only put him less than a mile away from me!\u00a0 So I set up for a shot.<\/p>\n
Not long after that, 11J peeked out from behind the trees and headed towards the crossing.<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixthumb:8875]\n
And as they rolled past, I got another going away shot as they pulled through the s-curve north of the crossing.<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixthumb:8874]\n
Satisfied with what I got, and not hearing much of anything else on the scanner, I packed up and headed to the office a bit earlier than I had expected.\u00a0 I figured I’d come back to this spot in the afternoon to check it out.<\/p>\n
Later that evening, and because it was evening by the time I got out of the office, I headed to Bound Brook to see what I could see.\u00a0 During my stay there, I caught an eastbound CSX general freight, a westbound empty ethanol train off of the Port Reading Secondary (NS train 69Q), an eastbound loaded NS autorack, and of course a couple NJ Transit trains.\u00a0 Oh, yeah, and a maintenance of way contractor picking up some track equipment near the station.\u00a0 Here’s the stuff from Bound Brook station:<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixthumb:8873] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8872] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8871] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8870] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8869] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8868] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8867] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8866] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8865] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8864] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8863] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8862] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8861] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8860] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8859]\n
