The university donated the land, and a private group built the study center, Greek Orthodox chapel and now an authentic Greek amphitheater on the parcel of land (which is on Dog Lane near the School of Fine Art). I just happen to be somewhat involved with the group that put the buildings up – I actually helped build the chapel and study center back in the mid 1990’s (in a “previous life” back when my father & I were general contractors together), and Jill & I were married in that chapel as well, so the project means a lot to me. Anyways, the amphitheater is moving along, a few rows of the marble seats have been laid and the stage has taken shape. So I took my camera, tripod & Lumedyne to get a few pictures of the theater. Also, afterwords, I moved inside the chapel with the rig and shot a few of the interior. Yeah, it’s not railroading stuff, but I hope you find it interesting.

[cpg_album:527]

Thanks for looking!
Tom

I had to head up to the Hellenic Study Center at UConn in Storrs tonight to check out their computers for the Conficker worm before the trigger date tomorrow. While I was up there, I figured I’d do a little night photography around the grounds, including the chapel and new Greek amphitheater that is currently […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

31
255,14,110,111,256,257
0":"post-525","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-night-photography","7":"tag-amphitheater","8":"tag-connecticut","9":"tag-lumedyne","10":"tag-night","11":"tag-storrs","12":"tag-uconn","13":"czr-hentry
["GET
