On Saturday I got an email from Nick Palazini informing me that the power from a Providence & Worcester ethanol extra was outlawed in Valley Falls, RI, and sitting on the Blackstone River bridge.\u00a0 Along with that information came an invite for me and my Lumedyne to come out and shoot it.\u00a0 Well, it was an invite that I couldn’t pass up.\u00a0 So after the kids were in bed, I packed things up and headed to RI for, believe it or not, my first visit to the state to shoot railroads.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The short version is this – it was well worth the hour plus drive out there.\u00a0 There were 4 B39-8s sitting on the Blackstone River bridge idling away.\u00a0 Nick & I got a number of shots from both ends, along with a couple shots of the P&W caboose sitting next to the engine house.\u00a0 I only posted a few right now – the rest will be saved for a slideshow on railroads at night I’ll be giving in late May of this year.\u00a0 Most of the shots were lit by the Lumedyne, but there’s one that uses only ambient light.\u00a0 Without further adieu, here’s the goods.<\/p>\n[cpg_album:516]\n

Now I need to go back there in the daytime.\u00a0 One of these days…<\/p>\n
