Worcester train NR-4. So I headed out and did my errand. On the way back, things were different…

On my way back home, as I crossed over the tracks at Bridge Street, I saw 608 up on the north end of the yard. But still no sign of either 610 or NR-4. So I stopped for a couple minutes to see if anything changed.

Well, a couple minutes later things did change – 610 pulled into view north of Bridge Street, headpinned their train, and the power – a pair of SD40s – pulled across Bridge Street to tie onto the P&W interchange traffic. As they passed by, I got a pan shot of them.

[cpg_imagefixthumb:8271]

Then as they were tying onto their train, I decided to head back home.

Not more than a couple seconds after I got into the car, a familiar voice came across the radio – “P&W train NR4 to 608 or 610”. Rod was pulling into town with NR-4. So I headed down to the Frog Bridge to try a couple shots of them heading into the yard.

On my way over, the NECR crews told Rod to pull up behind 610’s marker and wait for them to head north. I figured I’d get a shot of them coming around the corner near Pleasant Street, then play it by ear.

A couple minutes later, a trio of headlights pierced the darkness to the south, as NR-4 started to come into view.

[cpg_imagefixthumb:8270]

Then NR-4 came into view, and pulled in behind 610s marker, which was right under the Frog Bridge. With NR-4 now stationary, I took a few shots of the train.

[cpg_imagefixthumb:8269] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8268] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8267] [cpg_imagefixthumb:8266]

By that time, my fingers were quite numb, so I walked back to the car, packed up the gear, cranked up the heat and headed back home for the night.

Thanks for looking!
Tom

I had to run an errand in Willimantic tonight, so I was hoping to catch at least the two New England Central jobs in town. On the way in, I could hear NECR 608 working in the south end of the yard, but no sign of 610, or Providence &
