By the time I finished up, the sun was getting low in the sky, so I decided to swing by the Connecticut River drawbridge on my way home to get a couple shots.  Unfortunately there were no trains in the picture, but I got a couple nice shots of the open drawbridge with the setting sun.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I got to the CT DEP headquarters just north of Amtrak&#8217;s Northeast Corridor, parked the car, grabbed my gear and made my way towards the walkway that heads under the drawbridge, and along the eastern side of the Connecticut River.  I walked down the walkway about halfway, where I got a nice view of both the drawbridge, and the sun setting to the west.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[cpg_imagefixthumb:7458]\n<p>Walking back towards the bridge, I noticed a seagull flying around.  So like I usually do, I made it part of a couple pictures.  First was one of the bird skimming along the water<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[cpg_imagefixthumb:7457]\n<p>Then up higher, in front of the sun<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[cpg_imagefixthumb:7456]\n<p>Finally one shot including a bit more of the walkway<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[cpg_imagefixthumb:7455]\n<p>On my way back to the parking lot, I got one shot on the north side of the bridge.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[cpg_imagefixthumb:7454]\n<p>And that was it for my quickie stop along the shores of the Connecticut River.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for looking!<br \/>\nTom<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had to head to Old Lyme this afternoon to do a little electrical work at my parent&#8217;s place.
