The first week of May brought me to eastern Pennsylvania for work.  It was only for a couple of days, and the work schedule for the trip would make my shooting time quite a bit more limited than a typical business trip to the area.  But I did manage to get out and photo a few trains – some at a new location, and one other at one that is a bit more familiar.<\/p>\n

The two opportunities that I had to get out and shoot a little trackside were on my two travel days – Monday afternoon\/evening on the way down, and Wednesday evening during the return trip.  Each direction involved one stop – the trip down was at Wernersville, PA on the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Line, and the run back home’s stop was in Emmaus, PA along the NS Reading Line.<\/p>\n

Wernersville was a new spot for me, and my visit went a little beyond the usual shooting, as in I did a bit of scouting around the area for any possible future trips.  The interesting thing for me was the old stone passenger station in town, and that was the subject of my photos during my hour or so visit.  And in that time, I managed to catch 3 trains rolling past.<\/p>\n

The trip home on Wedesday evening took me in a little different direction.  Since I left work around 4:30pm, I took a little more scenic route home – mainly to avoid traffic around the Philadelphia area.  That route took me through Emmaus, PA where I caught one westbound empty crude oil train passing through town.<\/p>\n

Maybe my next trip will allow me to get out a bit more…and this time with the flashes.  Who knows…time will tell.<\/p>\n
