{"id":3880,"date":"2015-01-04T12:24:19","date_gmt":"2015-01-04T17:24:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nanosphoto.com\/blog\/?p=3880"},"modified":"2015-01-04T12:24:19","modified_gmt":"2015-01-04T17:24:19","slug":"two-years-in-under-8-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanosphoto.com\/blog\/two-years-in-under-8-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"Two years in under 8 minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-3845\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nanosphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/i-cp2bjwM-Th.jpg?resize=150%2C100\" alt=\"i-cp2bjwM-Th\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/>Between 2006 and 2008, I embarked on a project that long-time readers of the blog probably noticed. \u00a0Among what I was regularly photographing through the year, I also made it a point to shoot the ongoing progress of Amtrak&#8217;s Thames River draw moveable span replacement project. \u00a0An effort by the railroad to replace the aging span that bridged the channel in the Thames River where many ships &#8211; both civilian and military &#8211; pass every year.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve given presentations before to enthusiast groups around southern New England outlining the project&#8217;s progression, but never in one place on the web. \u00a0I decided to pull together about 100 photos from the project spanning between 2008 and 2012, also including a few shots from a cab ride I took with the Providence &amp; Worcester in 2009, as well as a couple closing photos from 2012. \u00a0The format I chose was a simple YouTube video, and comes in just under 8 minutes in length. \u00a0Just a heads-up, there&#8217;s no soundtrack, so if you&#8217;d like, fire up your favorite music while you sit back and enjoy the show.
