{"id":379,"date":"2008-05-13T21:31:54","date_gmt":"2008-05-14T01:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nanosphoto.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/13\/bw-at-rmne\/"},"modified":"2008-05-13T21:31:54","modified_gmt":"2008-05-14T01:31:54","slug":"bw-at-rmne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanosphoto.com\/blog\/bw-at-rmne\/","title":{"rendered":"B&#038;W at RMNE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nanosphoto.com\/gallery\/albums\/userpics\/10001\/thumb_2008-05-03-RMNE529-builders_plate-TMY.jpg?resize=150%2C150\" align=\"left\" border=\"1\" height=\"150\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"150\" \/>I was out at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rmne.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Railroad Museum of New England<\/a> in Thomaston, CT a couple weeks ago &#8211; May 3rd to be specific &#8211; photographing a Boy Scout camporee event put together by Otto Vondrak (yep, the same guy that put together the photo charter on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nanosphoto.com\/blog\/2008\/04\/08\/sunny-day-on-the-rails\/\">Catskill Mountain Railroad back in April<\/a>).  Otto had asked me to tag along and photograph the Scouts in action.  As a former Boy Scout myself, and the fact that I&#8217;ve never been out to RMNE, I couldn&#8217;t pass up the chance.  Well, this post doesn&#8217;t really have anything to do with the Scouts &#8211; that&#8217;ll come soon enough (pictures are out for publication &#8211; they get first crack at &#8217;em).  This is just a couple shots from my Rolleiflex.  Yep, I burned up some film that day in addition to the usual pixel killing spree.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The day included a couple train rides, tours of Thomaston Station, the new RMNE shops and Chase Yard.  On the first run to the shops from the station, I got a shot of one of the conductors exiting the train.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[cpg_imagefixthumb:6923]\n<p>If it wasn&#8217;t for the ex-Providence &amp; Worcester U-boat at the head end of the train, you really couldn&#8217;t tell when this was taken.<\/p>\n<p>The second one, however, was my favorite so far (I still have one roll to develop).  It was a shot I took kneeling on the floor inside the shop building, looking up at their ex-New Haven RS-3.  But I focused in on the builders plate, and let everything else fall into the background.  I bracketed 4 shots for this one &#8211; and I nailed it on one of them.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">[cpg_imagefixthumb:6924]\n<p>The print looks sweet, too!<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it for now.
