While waiting for a negative to scan, I was rummaging through a box here in the office and came across an envelope. In it was a bunch of B&W prints, a contact sheet and the corresponding the negatives. Looking on the back of the prints they were from the magazine CTC Board’s Day In North America 2004 feature, which happened on October 16 that year. But the 16th is also significant to me in another way – that was the day my wife was due to give birth to our 2nd daughter Callie. So I decided to play it safe, and head 5 minutes down the road to the Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum in Willimantic and shoot a roll of B&W film. Well, none of what I submitted to CTC Board made it into the DINA issue that year, but I decided to scan a few in to post here. I also scanned one medium format shot from earlier this year of the P&W 2008 in Fairview Yard. And no, Jill didn’t go into labor that day – Callie was born 2 days later.

First up is the more recent shot from December 12, 2007 (original blog post here). A shot of the P&W geep idling away in Fairview yard after being set out by NR-2 the day before. This was taken with the Rolleiflex TLR on Kodak T-MAX 100, which was pushed to 200.

[cpg_imagefixthumb:6015]

Next up are the shots from DINA 2004. Like I mentioned above, I kept it local that year because of the baby situation. At least I was able to get out for an hour or so. These were all taken on my Canon EOS Elan 7 body with various lenses (probably the 28-135mm IS and the 70-200mm f/4L) on Ilford Pan-F 50 ASA film.

[cpg_imagefixthumb:6021] [cpg_imagefixthumb:6020] [cpg_imagefixthumb:6019] [cpg_imagefixthumb:6018] [cpg_imagefixthumb:6017] [cpg_imagefixthumb:6016]

That’s it for today. Not sure if my meeting schedule tomorrow will allow me to get out to catch NR-2 or not, but we’ll see. Stay tuned…

Thanks for looking!
Tom

I had a little free time over the weekend, so I decided to sit down & scan some black & white negatives in.
