Coming back from errands on Saturday, I happened across a parked New England Central train 608 in Willimantic. So of course I had to stop & take a few pictures. What was missing? My camera bag! Yep, I left all my digital camera gear at home, but I did have one thing still sitting in my car – my Rolleiflex TLR, and it was loaded with a roll of Kodak T-MAX 100 film. So I was good to go!<\/p>\n
I pulled into the old CC Lonsbury site and grabbed the old fully manual camera and walked around a bit. Today I was doing things truly old-school – not only was I shooting black & white film, but this camera doesn’t have a meter, so I’d really have to estimate the exposure. Long story short, I got it fairly close. After I developed the film, they were overexposed by about a stop. Not too bad for only relying on my eyes…<\/p>\n
Anyways, I got a couple shots looking right at the train from low angles.<\/p>\n

Then I got a shot of “Barney” – otherwise known as the GEXR #3843 that sports an almost obscene purple paint scheme.<\/p>\n

Black & white does suit this paint scheme rather well.<\/p>\n
And finally a shot of the lead locomotive, the NECR #3851, with the tracks stretched out ahead.<\/p>\n

With my shots in hand, and the roll of film complete and ready to take a swim in D-76, I headed for home.<\/p>\n
