A little more than a month ago I was down in New Jersey again for work – a pretty uneventful week, with some photos taken (I’ll get ’em up here soon, I promise). \u00a0On my second to last day there, I got an email from a friend about a special guest that would be up at the Amtrak shops in Rensselaer, NY, along with an invite to visit that guest.<\/p>\n
I was able to head out early on Friday and make my way up to Rensselaer, NY to meet good friend & fellow photographer Bob LaMay at the Amtrak shops. \u00a0As you can probably figure out, we were there to photograph one of Amtrak’s specially painted units celebrating the railroad’s 40th anniversary. \u00a0In this case it was #156, which was wearing a version of Amtrak’s Phase-I paint scheme – commonly known as the “bloody nose” scheme. \u00a0We spent some time in the early evening light shooting 156, along with other operations around the shops. \u00a0As the sun was setting, we took a break for a bit. \u00a0Then as the light started to fade, we started a little night shooting around the shops, which of course culminated with a number of shots of #156. \u00a0Here’s the shots – there’s 50 in all, so give it a chance to load up.<\/p>\n
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot the usual disclaimer – we had permission to be on the property and take these photos. \u00a0A huge thanks to the guys at the shops for all their hospitality!<\/p>\n[cpg_album:843]\n
