{"id":2350,"date":"2011-03-08T22:01:07","date_gmt":"2011-03-09T02:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nanosphoto.com\/blog\/?p=2350"},"modified":"2011-03-08T22:01:07","modified_gmt":"2011-03-09T02:01:07","slug":"an-evening-in-bound-brook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanosphoto.com\/blog\/an-evening-in-bound-brook\/","title":{"rendered":"An evening in Bound Brook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 10px; border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"Conrail Bound Brook\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nanosphoto.com\/gallery\/albums\/wpw-20110215\/thumb_13-20110208-420204365-_MG_5443.jpg?resize=150%2C100\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/>Back on February the 8th I had to go down to New Jersey for the day (training class at work). \u00a0So to avoid traffic, I hung around the area for a bit and headed north around 5:30ish, avoiding much of the traffic in the northern Garden State. \u00a0Since I only had a limited amount of time, I decided to head down to Bound Brook and see what I could shoot. \u00a0Well, as things turned out, I got some pretty cool shots.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->It was a cloudy, cold &amp; blustery morning when I got to the NJT station at Bound Brook. \u00a0Not long after getting there, an eastbound NJT run pulled into the station, and after exchanging passengers, continued east towards Newark. \u00a0Even with the usual consist, I still got a shot as they cleared the signals.<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixnormal:115110]\n<p>Then it was time to wait around.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily I only had to wait about 10 minutes for Norfolk Southern train 20E to come into the picture. \u00a0I bagged two shots of them pulling through the interlocking, and past the station.<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixnormal:115109]\u00a0[cpg_imagefixnormal:115108]\n<p>After they cleared, things died down and I headed to the office for the day.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the evening, I headed back to Bound Brook. \u00a0Despite the lack of rail activity, the skies got rather interesting. \u00a0And I got a few shots of the clouds as they passed by, some of them revealing blue skies behind, and others showing some pretty dramatic colors.<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixnormal:115107]\u00a0[cpg_imagefixnormal:115106]\u00a0[cpg_imagefixnormal:115105]\n<p>About another 10 minutes passed, and the Middlesex detector to the east went off. \u00a0Soon after that, a Conrail local appeared, and slowly approached CP-BOUND BROOK (NS 33K was in Manville yard working, so the Conrail had a stop signal).<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixnormal:115104]\u00a0[cpg_imagefixnormal:115103]\n<p>But turning around 180 degrees gave me a dramatically different scene &#8211; the sun lighting up the clouds directly in front of the train!
