\u00a0But I did manage to get out a few times to shoot. \u00a0So instead of doing each one individually, I&#8217;ll roll them all into one big meaty sandwich of a single post. \u00a0In here you&#8217;ll see some slices of the New England Central, Providence &amp; Worcester along with some Amtrak goodness.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>January 11, 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first time I actually got a chance to get out and shoot for a bit was on January 11th, where I caught Providence &amp; Worcester train NR-2 at Mill Cove, the USS Nautilus and Fairview Yard in Groton. \u00a0On the headpin of the train was 80 ethanol empties they were delivering to the NECR in New London. \u00a0Nothing\u00a0extraordinary\u00a0about the photos, but hey, it&#8217;s something.<\/p>\n[cpg_album:830]\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>January 14, 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A few days later I caught NECR train NERWNE (AKA 608) heading north through Uncasville on my way into work. \u00a0A short train, but it was in some fairly fresh snow, so the scenes overall are kinda pretty. \u00a0This was before we got hit with 90 straight snowstorms and weren&#8217;t so bitter about more snow&#8230;<\/p>\n[cpg_album:831]\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>January 17, 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Martin Luther King Jr. day I managed to get out and shoot the New England Central train NERWNE between Norwich and Willimantic, again in some fresh snow. \u00a0And as a bonus, there&#8217;s some cab shots from Willimantic as the crew cleared the tracks, and did a little switching in the yard.<\/p>\n[cpg_album:832]\n<p>January 28, 2011<\/p>\n<p>And finally, Friday the 28th I managed to get out and meet a couple other railfans at the Niantic Bay Boardwalk to shoot an Acela and a Northeast Regional. \u00a0A somewhat sunny morning, but it was nice to get out and shoot a couple trains. \u00a0Also in the frame is some of the work going on around the Niantic River drawbridge and Amtrak&#8217;s\u00a0replacement\u00a0project.<\/p>\n[cpg_album:833]\n<p>And that&#8217;s it for the first month of 2011!
