I posted a new photo essay over on RailroadPhotoEssays.com titled Riding with a Fisheye<\/strong> – it’s basically a one-lens study using my 15mm fisheye lens for most of my trip with CSO-4<\/a> last month. Below is the intro – just hit the link at the bottom to be whisked away to the site. When you’re done with mine, feel free to poke around – there’s a ton of great work over there by many other rail photographers. If you’ve got something to share – feel free to sign up and post it. It doesn’t cost anything, and the site’s owners don’t sell your information – it all remains private. I guess I\u2019m fortunate to have contacts with the railroads that, from time to time, call me and ask if I\u2019d like to ride with them for a day. The most recent time was late June 2007 when a friend called and asked if I\u2019d like to tag along with Connecticut Southern Railroad train CSO-4 on a Saturday run from East Hartford, CT to West Springfield, MA and return. After getting approval from my wife \u2013 the keeper of the calendar \u2013 I met the guys in East Hartford, preparing to ride north on a beautiful summer day.<\/p>\n
