Slowly getting back up to speed with the posts here. \u00a0Work is still hectic, but after work on Wednesday I managed to get out and catch a little New England Central Railroad action in the form of an ethanol extra. \u00a0Then later that evening, I joined a couple friends in Willimantic to shoot the NECR Palmer turn down in the yard under some unique conditions – facing east was cloudless and moonlit, facing west gave a nice view of some approaching thunderstorms.<\/p>\n
As has been lately, I’ll be keeping the text somewhat brief. \u00a0In the evening I headed out with the family, and we chased and shot a southbound loaded NECR ethanol extra in Mansfield and Willimantic, CT. \u00a0Also managed to work my daughters into one shot up on the foot bridge in Willimantic. \u00a0Later in the evening, I joined Bob LaMay and Nick Palazini down in Willimantic for a little impromptu night photo session with NECR train 610, and the pair of SD40s that brought the ethanol down earlier (they had to drop that power in the yard because 6 axle power is not allowed south of MP27, so they used a pair of PW GEs that were in the yard waiting). \u00a0And what made things nicer was that one of the SD40s that brought the ethanol down was FEC #722. \u00a0Looked really pretty under the moon (as you’ve already seen in the post thumbnail). \u00a0OK, enough of that, here’s the photos!<\/p>\n[cpg_album:723]\n[cpg_album:725]\n
