{"id":1513,"date":"2010-02-21T11:14:19","date_gmt":"2010-02-21T15:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nanosphoto.com\/blog\/?p=1513"},"modified":"2010-02-21T11:14:19","modified_gmt":"2010-02-21T15:14:19","slug":"trip-wrap-up-nj-and-pa-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nanosphoto.com\/blog\/trip-wrap-up-nj-and-pa-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Trip wrap up &#8211; NJ and PA photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 10px; border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"NS\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.nanosphoto.com\/gallery\/albums\/userpics\/10001\/thumb_01-20100217-420204365-_MG_4365-Edit-final1.jpg?resize=150%2C100\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/>Last week I was down in New Jersey again for work, and as has been my usual practice, the cameras and Lumedyne have come along for the ride. \u00a0Instead of doing a post for each time I went out to shoot, I&#8217;m just going to roll everything up into one post&#8230;easier that way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><strong>February 16, 2010<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the President&#8217;s Day\u00a0holiday\u00a0on Monday, I didn&#8217;t head down to the Garden State on my usual Acela until Tuesday morning. \u00a0After work that evening, I decided to take advantage of what\u00a0remaining\u00a0light was left, and stop by Bound Brook station before checking into the hotel. \u00a0While there I was able to catch a couple eastbound NJT runs, along with one westbound CSX (pretty sure it was Q439). \u00a0With the light pretty much gone, I headed up the road to the hotel and checked in. \u00a0After sitting around for a bit I decided to head up to Morristown and shoot whatever was outside the Morristown &amp; Erie shops. \u00a0But I did take the scenic route to Morristown &#8211; making a stop in Whippany at J&amp;R Cigars to enjoy an El Rey del Mundo and a draught Boddington&#8217;s. \u00a0I&#8217;m glad I did that, because there was pretty much nothing at the M&amp;E shops &#8211; making the cigar &amp; beer worth the trip north. \u00a0Here&#8217;s Tuesday&#8217;s photos:<\/p>\n[cpg_album:679]\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>February 17, 2010<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Day Two in the Garden State was greeted by some sunshine. \u00a0So I took advantage of it and headed down to the Bound Brook NJ Transit station to see what action I could grab. \u00a0As it turned out, that was the right move &#8211; in addition to the usual NJT commuter runs, I was able to shoot an eastbound CSX work train, as well as a a pair of NS jobs &#8211; one east and the other westbound. \u00a0And within the westbound&#8217;s consist &#8211; an empty autorack job &#8211; was a Providence &amp; Worcester rack. \u00a0Later in the evening I decided to head out to Macungie, PA and do a little night work on NS. \u00a0While out there, I bagged four NS jobs around the pavilion in town. \u00a0On the way home, I swung through Allentown to check out the yard ops, and also made a stop in Bethlehem, where I saw the PBNE dropping a cut of stacks off for NS, but wasn&#8217;t in position to shoot them.<\/p>\n[cpg_album:680]\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>February 18, 2010<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thursday the 18th started out as a cloudy morning, so I decided to sleep in a bit and not shoot in the AM. \u00a0Instead, on a whim, I headed up to Morristown again to check out the M&amp;E. \u00a0At least there was something up there &#8211; a Maine Eastern FL9 was sitting outside the shops. \u00a0Being a NH fan, I had to shoot this old girl. \u00a0And while I was there shooting, I was paid a visit by Morristown&#8217;s finest. \u00a0Apparently someone called me in, so he had to investigate. \u00a0After a brief chat (&#8220;Oh, you&#8217;re a train guy?
