\"\"OK a bit behind once again – been busy around the work & home fronts – so I’ll be chipping away at some shoots from the past week or so. \u00a0Here’s something a bit different from last Tuesday – a little Maintenance of Way on the Providence & Worcester Norwich Branch.<\/p>\n

Last Tuesday I headed out for a bit to try and catch P&W NR-2 somewhere along the Thames in Ledyard. \u00a0But as I was heading north on Route 12 past Dow Chemical, NR-2 reported to the Worcester dispatcher that they had arrived at Allyn’s Point – sounded like they were switching Dow instead of the usual NR-3. \u00a0OK, I guess catching them was out of the question. \u00a0So on a whim I continued north.<\/p>\n

As I got to Stoddard Hill, I noticed something different down on the main by the cove – a tamper. \u00a0So I decided to head into the Stoddard Cove boat launch area and check things out.<\/p>\n

A MoW crew was there tamping the new bridge over the inlet to Stoddard Cove. \u00a0So I took a few minutes to shoot the tamper in action – there was a ballast regulator there, but he headed back north while I was there, and I didn’t have time to stick around to wait for him to come back once everything was tamped.<\/p>\n[cpg_album:654]\n

With that in the bag, I headed back to the office for the remainder of the day.<\/p>\n
