\"\"On my last night in NJ, I decided to head up to Whippany, NJ to check out the Whippany Railway Museum<\/a> out and photograph some of their equipment.\u00a0 As things worked out, not only did I stop in Whippany, but I also swung through Morristown and checked out the Morristown & Erie shops, where I found something a little unusual.<\/p>\n

After swinging by J&R Cigar in Whippany (and picking up a nice El Rey del Mundo), I stopped by the Whippany Railway Museum just down the road.\u00a0 There I found a bunch of their equipment dressed up for Christmas just begging to be photographed.\u00a0 So I broke out the Lumedyne and 50D and took a few shots around the entrance of the museum.<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixthumb:10903] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10902] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10901]\n

After these shots, I figured it was time to move on – not because of the amount of time I was there, but rather that the feeling had all but left my hands (again, no gloves…).\u00a0 So I figured I’d head south a bit and check out the M&E shops in Morristown – hey, it was on the way back to the hotel!<\/p>\n

When I got to the back of the Staples parking lot, I was greeted by an idling Norfolk Southern GP40 coupled to a M&E caboose and boxcar.\u00a0 Interesting…\u00a0 In addition to that, it looked like the M&E employees were preparing for the Santa Trains from the Whippany Railway Museum.\u00a0 As they were working, I got a few shots around the yard, including of course the NS consist.<\/p>\n[cpg_imagefixthumb:10900] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10899] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10898] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10897]\n

Once again, the feeling was starting to leave my extremities, so I figured it was time to call it a night…also, I didn’t want to stay out too late since I had a 9:30am train to catch in Newark…<\/p>\n
