Worcester train NR-2 at a couple spots in Ledyard and Groton before I had to head to the office. Too bad the clouds didn’t stay away…but at least we caught NR-2.

Like last Wednesday, we met up in Groton and then headed up to Mill Cove – Mike was looking to bag that shot while he was here in southern New England. Once we got there it wasn’t long before NR-2 came into radio range. So we set up at the south end of the cove for a series of shots.

Moments later, NR-2 came into view at the top of the cove, and I got my usual series of shots as they progressed along the causeway – this time incorporating a couple boats that were in front of me.

[cpg_imagefixthumb:10183] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10182] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10181] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10180] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10179]

With that in the bag, we headed south. Another shot Mike wanted to try out was from the USS Nautilus overlook park south of the sub base. So that’s where we set our sights.

We got there with about 30 seconds to spare – enough time to park and get into position, before NR-2 came into view near the USS Nautilus.

[cpg_imagefixthumb:10178] [cpg_imagefixthumb:10177]

Not bad for a quickie chase. At that point time ws running out for me, so I showed Mike one shot he could probably catch NR-3 at, and then gave him a few more tips on a couple spots along the Amtrak Shore Line (Niantic and Noank if you’re curious) before heading back to the office. At that point, we bid farewell – he waited around for NR-3 and I headed to the office for the remainder of the day.

Thanks for looking!
Tom

This morning I met up with Mike Biehn again, and we visited a couple different spots. I didn’t have much time, so we made the chase short, but I did give him a few more pointers on other nice shots around the area. Anyways, we caught Providence &
