Well, I had to run into Willimantic last night to run a last minute errand. This was about 8pm, so usually the two New England Central jobs are in town working – one turn out of Palmer working the P&W interchange, and the south end switcher out of South Windham […]
Willimantic
On my way into my daughter’s gymnastics practice in Willimantic, I came across New England Central train NERWPA working the yard in Willimantic, preparing to head north to Palmer, MA. Of course, I grabbed the camera and took a few shots of the train around the Bridge Street area.
Last night I got word that something special was going to be on Providence & Worcester train NR-4 coming into Willimantic. So three photographers got together for an impromptu night shoot. But of course, as with everything that has to do with the railroad, things changed last minute. But we […]
Well, I got lucky last week. I decided to poke around eBay for some photo gear I’ve been looking for, and came across one auction that was pretty much everything I needed. When all was said and done, I ended up winning the auction. And today FedEx delivered the box […]

Well, my previous post on the stinky twins of Willimantic was in error. Aparently the New England Central moved the two cars from their location by Bridge Street down towards Willi Waste on Memorial Day weekend. They still exist…
Well, it looks like the stinky twins finally got scrapped over the weekend. My guess is it happened either on Friday or Saturday. Either way, there’s not much left of them. I just wish I caught them being scrapped – that would have made a pretty neat photo essay. Oh, […]
Well, it’s that time of year again folks – time to get the tripods out and get ready for the fourth annual Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum’s Night Photo Shoot! This year should be an interesting one – we’ll have a couple new locations to shoot from, thanks to the volunteers […]
