Had to run out and do a couple errands in Willimantic tonight, so I threw the camera bag and Lumedyne bag in the car on the way out of the house. You never know what you’ll run into in Willimantic.
Connecticut
This past Saturday (12/13/08) Nick Palazini and I headed out for an evening of shooting under the stars with the Lumedyne. On the slate was hitting both Central New England Railroad branches, and if we had time, taking a swing by East Hartford to shoot the Connecticut Southern power by […]
After work tonight, I stuck around the Groton area to photograph the conjunction of three solar system bodies – the Moon, Jupiter and Venus – in the evening sky. Luckily the clouds cooperated again and I was able to get some decent shots of the trio in the sky.
Well, now that I rebuilt my Lumedyne battery (not only rebuilt it, but also increased its capacity by 50% over the factory rating), I figured a full-scale test would be in order. So I decided to head down to Essex, CT and shoot the Valley Railroad’s equipment after dark. I […]
I had to run an errand in Willimantic tonight, so I was hoping to catch at least the two New England Central jobs in town. On the way in, I could hear NECR 608 working in the south end of the yard, but no sign of 610, or Providence & […]

Last night I was able to attend a meeting of the Windham Photography Club – something I haven’t done in a while because of my work & family schedule. But I was able to get to last night’s meeting, and I was glad I did. The guest speaker was Mike […]
Since getting my Lumedyne setup, I’ve wanted to head down to Essex and shoot the Valley Railroad’s steam engines after a day’s work. Last night, I got that chance – nice calm night, and a little free time to make the hour long trip from home to Essex. So I […]
Last night I got word that something special was going to be on Providence & Worcester train NR-4 coming into Willimantic. So three photographers got together for an impromptu night shoot. But of course, as with everything that has to do with the railroad, things changed last minute. But we […]
