Providence & Worcester train NR-2 in the snow – 2/26/07

Well, as luck would have it, my first day back to work after my vacation in Florida, it snows. So of course, I had to duck out to get a couple shots while the snow was still on the trees. I decided to head to my normal haunt of Mill Cove in Ledyard, CT to catch P&W train NR-2 heading south. A bit after I got there, the scanner woke up and I heard that NR-2 was south of Norwich and about 15 minutes out of the sub base. About 12 minutes later, I heard the horns in the distance as NR-2 approached Red Top just north of my position. Here the train is beginning to round the bend just south of Red Top:

Then they make their way onto the causeway between Mill Cove and the Thames River, all the while blowing some of the freshly fallen snow:

And a couple seconds later, the train crosses over the inlet at the south end of the cove:
