After our little snowfall yesterday (about 17″ at home), and the sun & clear blue skies of this morning, I figured I needed to head out and catch something along the Thames River. As things worked out, I was able to catch Providence & Worcester train NR-2 at a new spot for me – someplace that Bob LaMay has shot at a bunch of times before.
While scouting out a location to shoot NR-2, Bob called me to see if I had heard anything from them yet. Since I hadn’t heard anything, and he hadn’t seen anything (he was near MP8 in Preston), we figured they were still well north of us. So I decided to head north and meet up with Bob there. Just after I got off the phone with him, NR-2 hit the Jewett City detector. Perfect…
I got up to the spot (after stopping at McD’s for a coffee), and met Bob and his friend Dick Sobielo. We chatted for a while, then NR-2 came into view. We rushed to get into position (I missed a shot I wanted to get – maybe next time…), and got a few shots of the short NR-2 passing by us in the snow.
[cpg_album:657]At that point we bid each other farewell – Bob & Dick were heading out on the Shore Line, and I was heading to the office. Not bad for a quick stop in snowy Preston.
Thanks for looking!
