I’m down in New Jersey again for a couple days with work. And as I have done before, the camera bag came along for the ride. But this time, the Lumedyne setup made its way into the bag. After I checked into the hotel, and got dinner, I went out looking for something to shoot. After striking out at a couple spots, I headed for a location where I knew there would be something – at least a GG-1 and a couple F units. When I got there, I got a little surprise…
After I got dinner tonight, I headed out looking for something to shoot after dark. So I headed for Manville to see if I could catch any NS action. After driving around a bit, I came across nothing. So I headed a bit west to Neshantic Station. Again, nothing. After looking at the maps, I decided I’d head to Lebanon, NJ, which is where the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey stores some of its equipment.
I got there, parked and started looking around. Something odd caught my eye on the west side of the grade crossing – a pair of red marker lights. What was that? A quick walk over gave me my answer.
It was a restored observation car. After doing a bit of research when I got back to the hotel, it’s a former New York Central 20th Centruy Limited obs car – specifically #43, the Hickory Creek. Cool! So I went around and shot some of the equipment there. And without any further blabbing, here’s the goods.
[cpg_album:506]Thanks for looking!
