CNZR and CSOR under the stars

This past Saturday (12/13/08) Nick Palazini and I headed out for an evening of shooting under the stars with the Lumedyne.  On the slate was hitting both Central New England Railroad branches, and if we had time, taking a swing by East Hartford to shoot the Connecticut Southern power by the offices.  Sure, it was a cold night, but the conditions were perfect.  Mostly clear skies, a nearly full moon, no wind, and a variety of subjects – couldn’t ask for a much nicer night.

The night started on the CNZR’s Griffin Branch in Bloomfield, where we photographed the power there.  From there we headed across the river to the CNZR’s Armory Line in Scantic to photograph the two Alco RS-1s housed there.  And to cap the night off, we headed to EastHartford to shoot the CSO power idling in the yard.  And despite the cold weather, the Lumedyne performed flawlessly, giving us plenty of light over a series of about 25 shots.  Here’s a samping of what we shot Saturday night.
