Yesterday I headed down to the Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum to check out the damage for myself (see this post for details on the vandalism). Also, as I found out last minute there was a blacksmithing demonstration also occurring – so that would put a nice positive spin on things. Plus, because of the vandalism, the museum was open all this weekend for free, giving folks to not only see the damage for themselves, but also to see what the museum was all about.
Well, on Saturday there were a little more than 200 people that visited the museum over the course of the day, and in talking to other members, some made some nice donations – not only monetary, but also materials and labor, all of which are more than welcome! I think it also helped to have the blacksmithing demonstration to add a little productive atmosphere to the museum, instead of just reflecting on the negative aspects of what the mental midgets (AKA fucking morons who trashed the place) did. Also throw into the mix the changing of a journal box lube wick, and the photos were pretty diverse.
So without any further blabbing on my part, here’s the photos from yesterday around the museum.
