Had to go on another trip to New Jersey last week for work, so of course the camera came along. But I was feeling a bit lazy, and I didn’t do my usual shooting from the platforms while waiting for my train. Instead I got a couple shots on the way down, and did my normal swing by Oak Island for a quick shot.
I wasn’t feeling all that inspired last week when I took my trip to Newark for work. So instead I got a couple shots from the train, and swung by Oak Island on my way back to the station for the return trip. At Oak Island, I ended up catching a couple NS engines moving east in the yard.
[cpg_album:455]Thanks for looking!

Tom, even if you say you weren’t inspired the pictures are interesting as always. Thanks for taking and posting them. Another time you could try to take some shots of interesting rail-related ruins (no joke) along your route, such as all the spurs that have been out of service for decades. George
Thanks George!
I had thought about shooting the older structures & abandoned sidings as we go by, but we’re usually past them by the time I get the camera out of the bag. Maybe with a little planning, I can shoot a few along the way on my next trip. I did do something else on the train, I actually sat down & read a couple books on the P&W – that’ll be an upcoming post in and of itself…
Oh, just a couple of NS engines…..never mind that there are ex-EL SD45-2’s!!
Nice,
Dave
Thanks Dave! Heh, just goes to show you I can’t tell an SD45-2 from a hole in the ground, nevermind the heritage of the unit… 🙂
