As some of you may know, a trio of New York, Susquehanna and Western SD70Ms that are being leased by RailAmerica were sent from the Florida East Coast Railway to the New England Central for some repairs. Well, as luck had it, CSX spotted the three on the east end of the West Springfield yard for the local to pick up. So on a whim, I took a ride up to south-central Massachusetts to photograph the trio.
Keeping this one short because there’s not much to add. Here’s a few shots from the 90 or so minutes I spent shooting the three EMDs. There’s more than these, but they’re being kept under wraps for their debut at my slide show on railroads at night taking place on May 30, 2009. That’s going to be a part of the New England/Northeast Prototype Modeler’s Meet in Collinsville, CT. I’ll have more details on that soon. Anyways, here’s 4 shots of the Susy-Q units in West Springfield. Well, actually only 3 shots – one is of a CSX job working the yard… I’m sure you won’t mind…
