Well, I got around to developing a roll of T-MAX 400 a few days ago, and finally got to scanning a few frames in. Here’s three for now.
First up is a pair of shots taken on September 13, 2007 at Red Top. That day I was testing out the higher speed focal plane shutter, instead of the usual shutter on the lens. The focal plane shutter can go up to 1/1000 of a second, whereas the mechanical shutter on the lens can only go as high as 1/400 of a second. Here’s a shot of the tracks near Red Top well in advance of the arrival of P&W train NR-2, as well as the train once they got there.

And a shot taken in my back yard at home. It was about 20 minutes long at f/8, and is obviously pointing north. The straight lines with the dots along them are aircraft flying overhead (the dots are the wingtip strobes). But the interesting one is the bright trails that look like they’re going right through Polaris (the north star). Since the shot was soon after sunset, I surmise that these streaks are satellites in a polar orbit. As they traversed Polaris, and headed eastward, they went further into the Earth’s shadow, and became dimmer the further east they went. Pretty neat!

If you’re curious, all three were taken on the Graflex Pacemaker 23 Speed Graphic.
That’s it for now. Thanks for looking!
