After work today, I headed down to Bound Brook station again to take advantage of the sunshine before the clouds fully moved in. In that time I was able to catch one Norfolk Southern, two CSX and a handful of NJ Transit runs. Oh, yeah, throw the Met-Life blimp in the mix too…
Still feeling not-so-wordy, I’ll cut to the chase. One NS job, two CSX trains and a few NJT commuter runs in some sweet afternoon/evening sunlight, and one of them had the Met Life blimp floating overhead. Who says you can’t shoot afternoon eastbounds at Bound Brook station? I think they came out pretty well overall…nothing award-winning, but passable for sure.

Hi Tom, you’ve really put some elements together here: backlighting, ribbon rail, telephoto lens, undulating terrain, black and white to bring out the power towers, starting across the crossover, signals, exhaust, shiny wheels of rear cars.
Thanks George! Just trying to mix things up – there’s only so many angles you can legally work at the station, so I wanted to play with different techniques, utilizing the evening sunshine.
